SHERRIL LOUISA VIJAYAN

Co Founder & Director of Strategic Planning

Sherril grew up in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

Sherril started her career with a multi-national company in 2004 where she specialized in IT Solutions for the financial industry. Her work ethic and positive attitude propelled her to go beyond what was required of the role and she was promoted three times in the span of 18 months eventually becoming the youngest regional service manager. Her portfolio covered a breadth of customers from various major financial institutions across the region. It was during this period of her life that she started taking a more active role in NTA.

In 2009, she moved into the telecommunications industry, taking on a service and business development role. Once again she was named best performer and became the youngest to do so. She implemented strategies that saw the highest year-on-year gain for the segment that she was managing. She remained in telecommunications for seven years, with her last position being Senior Business Development Manager with a US Telecommunications provider covering the Asia Pacific Region.

By this time she was deeply involved with NTA, keeping aside a good amount of time and money to start the NTA School for Refugee Children in Alor Setar. In mid-2015, after much contemplation, she left her promising career behind to focus her full attention on helping the poor, the marginalized and the forgotten. A decision that surprised many, including herself! With more time and attention on NTA, she co-founded NTA Social Enterprises and is the Director of Strategic Planning.
